I recently had 24 hours at the beach all by myself (not an easy feat with 4 kids). I spent sunset wandering the shore with my camera at the ready. It was the first time I was able to watch the beauty of an entire sunset unfold completely uninterrupted and undistracted. The way the light dances, changes, hides and takes over is mesmerizing. The scenes and colors captured on my camera each only lasted a few brief moments before fading to make way for the next work of art. As soon as I saw the definition of evanescent (soon passing out of sight, memory, or existence; quickly fading or disappearing) for the week’s challenge I immediately knew what images I wanted to share. The magical thing about these images to me is that they could only be captured in that place, on that day and at that time. Sunset the next day, even in the same place and same time would give way to a completely different visual display from mother nature.
